Biking Tour (Full Day)
Mountain Biking Sierra to Amazon Trade Trail (Full day - Moderately Challenging)
Ride 20+ km all downhill descending nearly 800 meters of altitude down traditional Amazon to Andes Incan Trail, then soak in therapeutic thermal hot pools, visit artisan shops or the nearby river.

| 7:00 am | If you are leaving from Quito for a day tour and are taking a bus, we recommend that you depart from the Ofelia bus station no later than 7:00 am. |
| 7:30 am | If you are taking a private car, then arrange to have you car to pick you up at your hotel or hostel no later than 7:30 am. |
| 10:00 am | Arrive at the Yurac Paccha (Entrance for the Cayambe Coca Reserve). You are welcomed with a hot cup of tea and locally made bread from the community. After a brief safety talk on basic steps and rules for downhill biking, we begin the bike tour. Bikes, equipment, boots, and gloves are provided. The journey starts in the paramo 3,800 meters above sea level. You will ride down toward the community passing waterfalls, ruins, and finally arriving in a site where a legend abounds about the famous “Virgin de Quinche”, whom thousands of Ecuadorians visit every year. The trip takes you over twenty kms (all downhill) and down nearly 800 meters of altitude. Experience the same route many Incas used to pass between the Amazon and the Andes mountains. |
| 12:30 pm | Enjoy a picnic lunch prepared in the community. The lunch normally consists of trout, potatoes, local cheese, and other local products (options available). Enjoy a warm tea made from regional herbs as well as delicious local fruits for dessert. |
| 1:30 pm | Return to the Oyacachi community. |
| 2:15 pm | After a long day of biking, take some time for yourself. Soak your body in thermal pools, take pictures of the community, visit the wood artisan’s shop to buy something that caught your eye, or simply relax by the babbling Oyacachi River and enjoy the tranquility of this community in the clouds. |
| 4:30 pm | End of tour. |
